​Tim Johnson founded Crow Southwest in 1999 serving as a product representative for several manufacturers of security electronics. In order to best demonstrate and inform clients about the newest equipment from Crow Southwest, Tim put himself in their shoes by studying numerous technical drawings and manuals learning practical applications and installation techniques of each device.

Since 2005, Tim has been a resident in Texas. Upon his arrival, Tim established Johnson Security and Surveillance, a security design and installation firm. He began serving customers along the I-35 corridor, but his business grew to include customers throughout the state.​

Much like the technology he uses, Tim’s business has continued to evolve. In 2015, he founded TechSys Security Integration Limited Liability Corporation under which Johnson Security and Surveillance continues to operate as a DBA. Along with the new corporation, Tim added a  co-owner and operations manager, his wife Melanie.
